Formed in 2008, Hare Bulk Haulage specialises in supply and bulk haulage of agricultural products including potash, combinable crops and stock feeds. The Hare conventional tipper fleet works closely with Pearsons in all respects as its founder, Michael Hare is also responsible for the daily operations of Pearsons.

The largest of the Group subsidiaries, J & & Ward operates an extensive conventional tipper fleet and the entire walking floor trailer fleet together with eight wheel rigids and articulated walking floor trailers on contract to Tarmac from the Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Penrith depots. Wards currently haul approximately 2.4 million tonnes per year throughout the UK.

Originally formed in 1924 by David Henry Pearson after the demise of the Iron Stone Mines industry, David was motivated to start his own business selling firewood from the back of a horse and cart, with a motorised vehicle following closely after.

Today, DH Pearson are an integral group member operating an extensive fleet of conventional tippers mainly to meet the demands of customers requiring TASCC, FIAS and other specialist services and/or ADR trained drivers from the Middlesbrough depot.

Horsley started out as horse & carts in Sheffield Steel Works, then moved to a small holding at Newton on Derwent in 1927, which is when Horsley Bulk Transport was formed, starting with 1 vehicle. Horsley’s now operates a fleet of new conventional tippers from the Leeds depot mainly to meet the requirements of its primarily agricultural based customers in the North of England and Lincolnshire.
